Thomson [TMS] offered attendees at the Satellite Broadcasting
and Communications Association (SBCA) conference here a glimpse
at a newgeneration RCA-DirecTv High-Definition (HDTV) receivers
designed to offer users optimum reception from a broad range
of digital programming, company officials said.
The new RCA DTC2000 will carry a suggested retail price of
$699 and is intended to provide a user-friendly, high-performance
way for consumers to receive full HDTV programming from various
signal sources, as well as people who want to optimize the
service of their existing analog televisions, Thomson officials
said. A key consumer advantage of the DTC200 is a seven-day
listing of terrestrial and DirecTv programming, company officials
said.
