Comcast today announced it is expanding its current robust
High Definition Television (HDTV) lineup with the addition
of INHD for all Comcast High Definition Television (HDTV)
customers in the Dallas metropolitan area.
INHD and INHD2 are available to more than half a million
homes within Comcast's service area on Comcast Cable channels
669 and 670, respectively. The service is available to customers
in the Dallas area who have an High Definition Television
(HDTV) - ready television set that utilizes an HD-enabled
Digital Cable box, provided by Comcast. The immediate service
areas include: Addison, Allen, Arlington, Bedford, Carrollton,
Cedar Hill, Cockrell Hill, Colleyville, Coppell, Dallas, Dalworthington
Gardens, Denton, DeSoto, Double Oak, Euless, Farmers Branch,
Flower Mound, Frisco, Garland, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Hebron,
Highland Village, Hutchins, Irving, Lancaster, Lewisville,
McKinney, Mesquite, Murphy, Pantego, Parker, Princeton, Rowlett,
Sachse, Southfork, St. Paul, Stonebridge, Sunnyvale, The Colony
and Wylie.
Comcast Digital Cable customers with High Definition Television
(HDTV) service will receive INHD and INHD2 at no additional
monthly charge. The 24-hour-a-day networks will bring viewers
a compelling programming lineup including seasonal sports
coverage, movies, specials and concerts.
INHD and INHD2 feature approximately three Major League Baseball
games each week, as well as other sporting events and specials,
such as Super Speedway, an inside look through the eyes of
real-life racing legends Mario and Michael Andretti as they
reach speeds in excess of 230 mph.
INHD and INHD2 also feature movies from Hollywood's leading
studios, such as Being Human, The Power of One and Lord of
the Flies. The networks will premier science and nature shows
including Wild Blue Yonder allowing viewers to experience
the incredible sights and sounds of a Blue Angels air show
at Andrews Air Force Base, as well as Ocean Oasis (IMAX) and
Tropical Rainforest which are both visually stunning nature
programs.
The networks will also premier general interest programs
and special concerts including performers such as Beyonce
Knowles, Peter Gabriel and Bon Jovi.
With the addition of these new channels, Comcast is continuing
to build on its strong lineup of High Definition Television
(HDTV) content throughout the region. This launch comes on
the heels of Comcast giving customers access to ESPN HD, which
provides the opportunity to enjoy some of the best sports
programming available.

said Ann Montgomery, Regional Senior Vice President for Comcast's
Southwest Region. "With high definition broadcasts from
our local networks, as well as leading national networks like
HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Starz! and ESPN, Comcast offers one
of the most robust HDTV packages available anywhere,"
added Montgomery.
High Definition Television (HDTV) technology provides video
and audio that is clearer, sharper and more vibrant than previous
video transmission systems. The service is available for customers
with an High Definition Television (HDTV) -ready television
set and uses a Digital Cable box provided by Comcast, so customers
don't need to purchase additional equipment.
Comcast carries eleven high-definition channels including
WFAA-TV (ABC), KTVT-TV (CBS), KXAS-TV (NBC), and enhanced
wide-screen digital programming from Fox. Comcast also offers
other popular channels in high-definition including INHD,
INHD2, HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, and Starz! Sports fans can
enjoy the excitement of their favorite sports in crystal-clear
high definition with ESPN HD.
In addition to High Definition Television (HDTV), customers
who subscribe to Comcast Digital Cable can receive more than
250 channels, including dozens of commercial-free premium
movie channels, 45 channels of commercial-free music, and
an interactive on- screen guide and more.
