With ever-increasing consumer interest in flat-panel
television technology, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd unveils
a technology it claims enhances picture quality on all SaMSUNG
flat screen TVs.
Samsung is launching high definition TV sets with its new
DNIe (digital natural image engine) imaging technology. The
technology can be applied to all color TVs that come with
flat screens. Flat-screen TVs include flat tube TVs such as
Sony’s WEGA and Samsung’s DynaFlat line, rear
projection TVs, and TVs using flat-panel technologies such
as plasma and LCD TVs.
Samsung is aiming to head off growing market threat from
PC brands such as Gateway Inc and Dell Inc and also competition
from television technologies such as Sony Corp's WEGA and
Philips's Pixel Plus. Samsung says the technology also enables
consumers to adjust colors.
Samsung has about 13 percent of the global flat screen digital
TV market in terms of number of units.
