ViewSonic® Corporation, a worldwide Visual Technologies™
leader, today unveiled upgrades to the PJ500 and PJ550 LCD
portable projectors, two of its most popular LCD portable
projectors at the Custom Electronic Design & Installation
Association (CEDIA) Expo. With the addition of 300 lumens,
the PJ501 and PJ551 are designed not only to meet the stringent
requirements of business professionals, but to also deliver
the versatility and ease of use demanded by home theater enthusiasts.
With estimated street prices (ESP) of $1795 and $2195 respectively,
the PJ501 and PJ551 LCD portable projectors are affordable
alternatives to stationary, bulky and expensive big-screen
TVs. Weighing just five pounds each, and rated at 1500 lumens
of brightness, both offer compatibility, ease of use and excellent
image quality in a lightweight, mobile form factor. The PJ501
and PJ551 offer consumers a source of entertainment that can
be used with video and TV signals, including HDTV, as well
as with PCs and laptops for games, web surfing and digital
photography.
"These latest ViewSonic offerings are meeting demands
for brighter, higher quality presentation products at more
affordable prices, while providing the tools home theater

Visitors to ViewSonic booth #757 at CEDIA (located in the
Minneapolis Convention Center from September 27 – 29)
can experience the capabilities of the PJ501 and PJ551 LCD
portable projectors, along with other ViewSonic next-generation
display products, including the VPW505, a 50-inch high-resolution
plasma display. With an ESP of $8995, it is one of the lowest
priced 50-inch plasma on the market today.
The ViewSonic PJ501 and PJ551 LCD protable projectors will
be available through retail outlets, including CompUSA, along
with mail order and PC reseller channels beginning in Oct.
1, 2002. Both projectors are sold with an industry exclusive
support program of one-year limited projector lamp warranty,
a three-year limited product warranty and one year of Express
Exchange® service at no additional charge, along with
24/7 technical support.
