SAMSUNG Electronics demonstrates its remarkable
innovation in the home theater industry, with the debut of
six new showcase products at CES 2004. The company’s
new 57" Samsung LCD and 80" PDP set new standards
in flat screen quality while its Blue Laser Optical Disc Recorder
and two new Samsung Home Theater systems deliver unsurpassed
quality in the home entertainment experience.
SAMSUNG is expanding its already impressive portfolio of
TV display technology for the home with the unveiling of its
new 57” Samsung LCD for High Definition television (HDTV).
The dramatic 57” prototype represents the largest possible
size for a fifth-generation glass substrate. Offering full
HDTV functionality, the 57” model features SAMSUNG’s
improved PVA (ITO Patterned Vertical Alignment) and advanced
polarizer technologies to achieve a 1000:1 contrast ratio
? a significant advance over the common 400:1 and even the
800:1 ratio of SAMSUNG’s preceding 54” TFT-LCD
panel.
Analysts project worldwide sales of Samsung LCD-TVs larger
than 40” to dramatically increase from 4.2 million units
in 2003 to 28.6 million units in 2007. With its latest largest-ever
model, SAMSUNG now offers the broadest range of Samsung LCD
TVs ? from 15” to 57”? to meet rising market demand.
SAMSUNG will also showcase at CES its 80” PDP TV, further
demonstrating the company’s prowess in large screen
flat panel TVs. Its 80-inch screen is the largest ever in
its category. Also with its 1920*1080 resolution this TV is
capable of displaying HD signal to its fullest. An exceptional
brightness of 800cd/m2 and the contrast ratio of 2000:1 were
also achieved.
All SAMSUNG flat panel TVs feature the company’s patented
Digital Natural Image Engine (DNIe) technology to ensure the
greatest clarity in HD broadcast signals.
Joining SAMSUNG’s new flat panels and high-definition
Blu-ray Disc Recorder is the company’s new line of innovative
home theater systems.
The HT-AS700 slim digital A/V HDTV receiver is capable of
upgrading 5.1-channel sound into a 6.1-channel listening experience
with Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic II. The HDTV receiver
also performs DTS-ES decoding and delivers 90W into each of
six channels. Multi-channel analog audio input supports DVD-Audio
or SACD connections. Binding posts for front speaker outputs
and dual subwoofer outputs support easy installation.
The HT-AS2000 deluxe HDTV receiver is designed not only for
people who appreciate powerful home theater sound but for
serious music listeners as well. The product features 6.1
channels of Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS-ES,
and is rated to deliver 130W into each of its six channels
with powerful and quality sound. Eight audio inputs and four
audio outputs ? with multi-room, RS-232C and optional 12V
trigger support ? allow the music lover to wire an entire
home.
